PROGRAMS

This is a preliminary program offering for the 2008/2009 meeting year.  This will be updated as more information is received.

  • SEPTEMBER 13, 2008

All about Convergence will be reported by Maureen Carlson, Elaine Tyburski, Mimi Smith, Bob Lewis, Edie Sanders and Kate King who attended this conference.  If you went to Convergence we want to hear from you also.

  • OCTOBER 11, 2008

Let's weave a treasure pouch - this will be a hands on program, participants need to bring yarn (handspun or commercial), scissors, blunt tapestry needle, tape measure, a fork for beating down the warp and some scotch tape.  The cardboard looms will be supplied.

  • NOVEMBER 8, 2008

A hands on program will show us how to felt with a felting needle.  Felting kits are $8.00 and should be ordered from Laura Arena at the September or October meeting.

  • DECEMBER 13, 2008

We will enjoy our traditional pot luck luncheon and also have a small gift exchange.  If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, bring a wrapped gift that costs around $15 that a fiber arts person would enjoy.

FEBRUARY 15, 2009

A 3 hour workshop will be held at Waldemere Fire Station on buttons appropriate for handwoven clothing.  Mimi Smith, Lois Mills and Pam Marble will be imparting their expertise.  A small materials fee will be charged

Sue McGrath will give the program on art dolls.  We will have a members sale.

Program on Colour.  Who can help Laura Arena with this?

Picnic time!  Location to be established, possibly at Laura's home with natural dye pots available for skeins of yarn or fiber.
